EQ #13

Schools should have a greater focus on modern artistic outlets. The current generation is slowly realizing the enjoyment of artistic pursuits. Current artistic practices in schools are extremely archaic. There are many knowledge benefits gained from focusing on artistic abilities. Honestly the current standards are below par and we need to change that.
Sure we have programs like art and band but these are simply not enough. Plus in a world dominated by digital art and modern music, only having classes based on outdated art forms no longer used is pretty ignorant. With all the technology now used in these art forms we should no longer be only using physical instruments, paint brushes, and canvas. Kids are no longer interested in classical music and marching bands they would much rather learn about pop instrumentation or hip hop wordplay.
My main point being there is an obvious age gap in administration and students. I'm not gonna sit here and tell you that I know the perfect answer to this problem but I can make some suggestions, hire someone more connected with my age group to decide which art forms to focus on. Kids are no longer interested in Van Gogh or Picasso they would much rather view Banksy or Warhol, they are no longer interested in Beethoven or Mozart they would much rather listen to J. Cole or Lana Del Ray.
